Okay, that's not entirely true. I had a bunch of browser windows open and went to look up a word with my LJ window on top so, of course, everything I typed was gone when I finally found my way back. The little voice that I often ignore (but is usually right) told me to "CTRL + C" so I'd have the text if anything happened. Stupid, smug little voice. :oP

I've noticed people doing "cuts" and I'm going to try to do that, here, because what I have to say is long-winded (and very well may be completely uninteresting to those who don't want to hear about the mundanities of my day).

I was up before six this morning. I didn't mean to be up before six this morning. Six is a completely obscene hour of the day and should be avoided at all cost. I hate six in the morning. I set the alarm last night thinking it would go off at 7:30am but, obviously, that wasn't the case. Now, I should probably explain that the clock on my nightstand is set nearly an hour fast. I do this so I'll be confused when it goes off and will have to wake up enough to calculate the time. Over time, I've come to realize I can hit the snooze about three times before I need to think "okay, the alarm says 7:10 a.m. so that means it's really.." This morning, when the alarm went off MrBug started rubbing my back and talking to me and I couldn't go back to sleep. Thank God he had a business breakfast and I was able to drift back off for another hour after he left. :)

I got up a little before eight, had some coffee and waited for the caffeine to work its magic (it makes my fangs and claws retract for approximately twelve hours. Then, I have after-dinner coffee and no one gets hurt!).

Mowed the lawn at 9am - a time which you'd think wouldn't be quite so hellish as it's still early but it was already stinking hot and I was sweating like a dock worker about five minutes in.
Buddy, in his old age, has taken to amusing himself by setting up 'land mines' in the yard. I go around and shovel before I mow because, as everyone knows, projectile poop can put an eye out. Yet, every single time I miss at least two. Today's were craftily hidden in clumps of high grass like Easter eggs - surprise! At least they were dry and I was saved having to shimmy the tires against the grass to clean up the smear. (Aren't you glad you've read this far?)

After a shower and answering some e-mails concerning the Bookcrossing postcards, I headed north to pick up my framed cross-stitch at The Strawberry Sampler. While I was up there, I stopped in another shop and picked up two skeins of ladder yarn to finish off the mini-shawl I knitted for my niece's birthday.

I'll mail it, soon, even though her birthday isn't until mid-July because mail takes forever getting to Australia. I have another niece, in California, whose birthday is also in mid-July. She's getting a summer-weight scarf that I'll be starting, soon.

MrBug's partner came over, after work, and we went over the electrical needs in the addition. Steve gave me the URL for a really cool lighting web site and encouraged me to spend over a thousand dollars in light fixtures. He said it's only fair as MrBug ended up selling Steve's wife on multiple body sprays in the shower of their new home. After choosing a gorgeous cut-crystal chandelier for the powder room....nah, just kidding! The two of them ran to The Home Depot and bought the rough electrical material (to be installed on Saturday) while I went and picked Savagefuzzball up from a friend's house (where she had spent the night). When I got back, MrBug and I argued over whose room the new addition was. I won the argument.

I think that's it. I'm off to have a slushie and read a bit. If you read all of that you deserve a slushie, too. Hurry up over before it melts!

You did figure out how to cut!

It shows up in the full version when you look at the post you've just made. There is a certain way you have to look at your own journal to see how it looks with the cuts, but I can't remember exactly what it is.

But the cuts worked for me for sure!

Is that Spedkid modeling the shawl?

so I figured they weren't there so, now, it's cut twice when I didn't intend it to be. Oh well. :oP

Yes, that's Savagefuzzball (www.bookcrossing.com/mybookshelf/Savagefuzzball), my pride and joy. :)

That is a great looking shawl.

I didn't "see" you, here. I'll toddle off, now, and add you to my friends list.

yup -- preview never shows cuts (how annoying), but when you look at it after posting, you can see :) (I generally make a bunch of fast edits at that point!

LOVE the pics of SFB modelling. Your niece will love that. I don't think I knew you were a knitter type. Yoko and I think BountifulPots are both in knitting communities. I like stumbling on the pics when I'm browsing their friends pages :)

I think that permanent sign makes very clear whose room it is. Shouldn't be any further confusion.

Oh, and until I had a paid account ([livejournal.com profile] reggiesgirl2 can back me up on this too), I was FOREVER losing entries. Makes me crabby just thinking about it. You wouldn't think that CTRL+C was that hard to remember, would you?

What's that? I don't know. But it's cheaper than a chandelier in the powder room :)

or shawl (if I had a brain)

At least, I *had* half a brain, just a minute ago. Now, where did I put that?
[sigh]
Oh well. Thanks! :)
