Addition update

This morning, I taped and spackled the horizontal drywall joints and screw depressions (no, that's not a euphamism for a bad lay) in the addition. When that's dry, I'll do the corners. When all that is dry, I'll put a second coat on, sand and feather a third coat. Third time should be the charm.

Here's me spackling:

Here's me after MrBug suggested my work looked sloppy:

Actually, the pictures were taken after the fact. I spackled and then we went out and shingled about 1/3 of the roof (I was going to post a pic of the partially shingled roof but changed my mind. You'll see it once it's completed). MrBug went and met someone that's interested in buying his old work van and I showered. The pictures you see are post-shower (notice how clean the spackle knife is).

Boots has actually been going into the addition, recently. Before, she was too freaked out by the change to venture near.

Savagefuzzball's oral surgery went very well. She was able to eat some soft stuff last night and is, apparently, feeling well enough to go to a party this evening. And to think I was worried. :oP

I thought you looked a little stylish for someone mucking about in spackle!

[identity profile] spedbug.livejournal.com 2005-10-01 07:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Stylish? Please check your prescription. I'm wearing the same shorts as I was in the "look at the scarf [livejournal.com profile] reggiesgirl2 gave me!" shot. I'm anti-stylish. I am the Comfort Queen!

WEll...that's my idea of style-- without the horns at least!

What can I say? Manual labor makes me horny! ;)

There's nothing like a good spackle, eh? ;-)

Right, so when you're done....can you come round and do mine please... I'll pay your air fare ;o)

Very professional :o)

I don't mind spackling but I hate having to sand...and, then, clean the house after the inevitable dust settles. :oP

Nice. Wanna go to New Orleans in Nov?

Glad SFB is doing so well!

I was going to say "you spackled wearing a BLACK top?!?" but then I read the rest and realized you were putting us on.

Love the horns.

And to think I was worried.

That's because you're a Mom and always will be no matter how old they are.

I am so happy your daughter's surgery went so well.

Hey, don't side track us with the spackle knife thing.
Those red appendages on your head lead me to believe you've been keeping something from us. (rofl)

Seriously spedbug you are so cute.

Vickie :)

Aw, shucks. Thanks.

First czukie with the carving knife, now you with the trowel! What's up with the brandishing of blades around here?

[identity profile] spedbug.livejournal.com 2005-10-02 02:03 pm (UTC)(link)
My blade is, by far, less sinister than czuk's. It might administer a stinging spanking but, all in all, the mud tray was more dangerous than the spackle knife - it was the edge of the tray that cut me when I was cleaning up the vestiges of spackle from both!
