It's been a while since I've had time to sit down and had something worth journalling about. I have a bit of time and a little something to tell so, here goes:

On Friday night Savagefuzzball's godmother (who I will refer to as "The Rubberband", part of my nickname for her) took us out to dinner for our birthdays to a lovely restaurant on the Riverfront. The food was excellent and so were the French Martinis we were drinking (The Rubberband I, that is). I'm going to have to try to make them at home!

On Saturday we had dinner with Tenety and Omi. While there, I mentioned that SFB was really into The Rocky Horror Picture Show, at the moment. I mentioned this because Omi was the one who took MrBug and me to our first showing of TRHPS, when we were much younger (he also played "Eddie" a few times). Omi excused himself for a moment and came back with a box full of albums. Talk about a blast from the past. Looking through his albums was like walking through my teens and twenties. He handed SFB an "audience Partic-i-pation" album of The Rocky Horror Picture Show and let her look at it for a few minutes. When she went to hand it back to him he said "Happy Birthday". You should have seen the look on her face...she was estatic. Guess who's looking for an inexpensive turn-table, now...

On Sunday, we went to Ocean City, Maryland. One of the guys MrBug works with had rented a place down there for the week and invited us for the day. We met up with them and the gang they had staying at their place (did I mention they're all more than 10 years younger than us, the younger ones being more than 20 years younger?) Sitting there listening to them recount their vacation antics, I felt old, old, old. As we walked down to the beach, I released two books (The Romance Reader and The Witch of Cologne). Both books were gone when we walked back, hours later, but neither have been journalled as of yet. I can hope that they who picked up the boks are on vacation, sans internet connection, and will promptly journal the books when they return.

While on the beach, Sunday, my niece called my cell phone to tell me that the trip to Six Flags Great Adventure's water park, Hurricane Harbor, had been moved from Tuesday to Monday. :oP Nice. I had thought I'd have Tuesday to launder our bathing suits/towels and relax a bit. But, no.

So, yesterday, I spent a good part of the day splashing around at Hurricane Harbor with my brother, his two children, SFB and Mingo.

Today was a day of laundry and cleaning, two big MUSTS.

Tomorrow, MrBug is taking us to the beach for my birthday. Have I mentioned that I love lying on the beach with a book? There's nothing quite like baking in the sun, listening to the surf, smelling the mingled aromas of suntan lotion, beach fries and salt air and reading a good book. After the beach, he's taking us to see the movie "The 40-Year-Old Virgin". Doesn't that sound like a lovely birthday? :)

Sorry if I've missed anything important on your journals, dear friends; hopefully, I'll be able to catch up on Thursday or Friday. Hugs and kisses all around!

The 40-Year-Old Virgin is hilarious! Definetly worth seeing.

I've heard nothing but good reviews so I'm looking forward to seeing it. :)

to see the younger generation keeping up the tradition, since I can barely stay up just til midnight anymore! Does SFB know that this year is the 30th anniversary? I guess I'll try to make it at least once this year. Memories... I've been, um, a multitude of times but it's been about 4 years.

Hope you have a great birthday!!!

I've already ordered by bookplates - and postcards...

No, I don't think she's aware. Although, all she'd have to do is look on my 25th Anniversary release DVD to know.

Thanks x 2 (one for the birthday wishes and one for ordering those items from the supply store). :)

Check this one out, if you want a stand alone one: Philco Record/CD player on ebay

My husband's grandparents actually gave us one just like this, I think they paid $199 for it brand new but his grandpa decided he wanted one with a tape player, too...

Thanks for the link. SFB has absolutely no room left in her bedroom for something like this. We're looking for a stand-alone turntable to hook up to our existing system (which is a separate CD player, receiver and cassette player). We've already checked out a few leads on e-Bay but haven't had time, together, to make any kind of decision.

Thanks, buffra. :) I'm off to the beach for the day (leaving in about 5 mins) so it should be a very happy birthday. :)

Happy Birthday! We saw 40 year old Virgin last weekend - it is full of nasty language and crude humor (think American Pie), but that's kind of the point. I thought it was funny, and I LOVED the ending. :-)

Thanks, MartiP.

I loved the whole "park my bike" banter from the previews so I think it'll be right up my alley.
