What do psychologist say- an infant weaned too early will grow to be an orally fixated individual? I need to speak to mom about not giving me enough breast-time!

I was a chewer, as a child. Chewed the feet off of my Barbie dolls. Chewed my pencils to rough, uneven sticks. Chewed straws flat. Chewed ice.
I started smoking at 12 and smoked for *years*. Although I quit 9 years ago I could easily fall back into the habit if I allowed myself to weaken. I *loved* smoking. LOVED it.

What really brought home my fixation, however, was realizing, while standing in the craft store holding a string of beautiful rose and silver lampwork beads, that I would have loved to have put them in my mouth. I didn't and I won't but the urge was there. And it was strong.

Gah!
