I got my memory...finally! Don't get excited, it's memory for my PC not a miraculous cure for my befuzzled brain. The package finally arrived in yesterday's mail (when you pay for priority shipping and are promised 2-4 days, you expect it in 2-4 days, not 5. AND you expect it to have priority mail postage on it, not standard). MrBug snapped in the sticks and presto, the PC recognized it without fuss or mess. So, now I'm operating with 512 megs of RAM instead of a measly 256. Hopefully, this will make a difference with the computer locking up.
On Thursday afternoon our friends D & A came over, D preceding his wife so he could work on Savagefuzzball's computer. D is the tech guy for a large church, handling their multimedia, the church computers and network, and the ability to broadcast the pastor, live, to remote Satellite churches in the area. He's the guy who built all the computers in our house (and, as you can guess, he's been doing so for years because my computer RAM is so old you can hardly find it for sale, anywhere). So, as I was saying, not only does D work for this church, he's also studying to become a minister, himself, and raising two boys under the age of two with his wife. He's a busy guy and we were grateful he could take a 1/2 day from work to come over and look at SFB's PC.
The plan was to wipe her hard drive, completely, and reload everything. Her PC was so riddled with worms and adware/spyware that trying to hunt down and destroy all the malicious stuff would be too exhaustive. On a hunch, he brough over two PCs that had been donated to the church to see if he could pirate memory, etc. from them to upgrade SFB's (she, also, was only working with 256 megs of RAM). Turns out the donated computers were better than SFB's and, so, he loaded one of them with all her software and we'll "donate" money to the church in payment (the same amount we would have paid to upgrade her memory, so that worked out well). :)
A followed, later in the evening, with their two sons D&D in tow. D the elder is about 20 months old, now, and D the younger is 2 months old. I don't know how D,Sr. and A do it; it has to be that they're still young and full of energy. MrBug and I were exhausted by the time they'd left and that was just from watching D & A manage two small children. They're non-stop!
Addition news:
No work on the addition Thursday or Friday due to company and, then, exhaustion. Saturday, MrBug finished insulating the walls and hung the door to the bathroom part of the addition.

He said hanging the door was a real bear as something was out of level and he had to play with it and play with it (by shimming) before it set without rubbing or hitting. Next step: drywall. Hooray! :)
Saturday Night Hurricane:
No, we didn't have an actual hurricane. I'm talking about Category Fives, a drink our friend Omi makes. We went to Tenety and Omi's for our regular Saturday night dinner (delicious BBQed chicken, guys! Thanks!) and, while dinner was in its final preperations, Omi started concocting evil alchemies. I've never seen so much alcohol go into a jug. Orange vodka, whiskey, amaretto....was paint thinner in there, too? I don't know but, if there was, it was tasty. I asked, as Omi was mixing it, "is there anything that isn't alcohol in there?" Turns out there are two fruit juices in a Category Five Hurricane but only enough of each to half the alcohol. After dinner, Mr and Omi go out on the deck with Mike's Hard Limes. Tenety and I had some white wine. After Omi and Tenety's kidlings go to bed, I had a little port (which Omi assured me makes pretty happy sipping). While watching a movie, Omi starts bringing us Hurricanes.
Now, folks, let me just say right here, right now, that these Hurricanes are eeeevil. They taste something like a Mai Tai or a Rum Punch. They are deceptively smooth. Imagine a sledgehammer wrapped in velvet. You drink one and think, "That's very tasty!" but a quarter of the way into your second one you realize your lips are beginning to go numb and speaking coherently has become a challenge. Thank God Mr. stopped at the Mike's Hard Limes, earlier in the evening, and had a bit of a nap in the comfy, yellow chair (Props to Tenety for giving up her chair on Saturday nights to my husband for his weekly naps) because there was no way I was driving.
Today, we're going to a party with a bunch of Mr's co-workers. I wonder if I'll survive the weekend? ;)

Barely! ;)
I got the recipe for the Category 5s but wonder if I shouldn't just leave well enough alone....
