It's god-awful early and I'd rather be in bed

I have to take my mother into the hospital for cataract surgery, this morning. Like the airport, they want her there two hours before her surgery (to strip search her for explosives, no doubt). Out of bed before 6am and showered by 6:30? Obscene. Even worse, I've had no coffee yet.

You won't see much of me, today. Have fun in cyberspace, everyone.

I sympathise - I hate getting up early too. When I work early shifts I tend to walk around like a zombie for the first couple of hours!

I hope your mother's surgery goes okay. And hopefully you can get a coffee in the hospital canteen :-)

I'm up at 5:50, too

It truly is an obscene time of day. And I can't believe that for a bazillion years in Chicago, I got up at 4 every day to catch the 5:15 train! *gak*

Hope all goes well, and they don't find any explosives.

Hope your mom is okay and doing well by now.

I *love* to get up early! My apartment faces east and I love to sit and watch the sun come up and then walk Trixy before the daytime noises kick in.

. . . and totally OT

I like the layout! It's soothing. Well, all except that crazy clown pic :)

Thanks for the well-wishes

A friend of my mother's is spending the night at her house so I'm finally back after spending a long day away from home. I really, really dislike being away from home for prolonged periods of time (unless it's a vacation and, even then, I'm always happy to be home when we return).

The surgery seems to have gone well; we'll know more tomorrow after the eye doctor has a look at his handiwork. Although slightly nauseated from being anesthetized, she hasn't experienced any pain.

I'm off to wash my face (her house was so hot my pores were fairly WEEPING oil! - ICK!) and read in bed for a bit.

Hugs to {{{{all of you}}}} and one extra to {antof9} for complimenting my LJ layout! ;)
