I was "snack mom" yesterday
So I stood at the counter for about fifteen minutes, yesterday afternoon, washing and cutting up celery and broccoli crowns and arranging them with some baby carrots I'd bought. I send these, in a tupperware-ish container, with Savagefuzzball and Mingo to that evening's Jazz Chords practice. Oh, there was a container of sour cream and onion dip with that, by the way.
When I picked them up, an hour and a half later, both girls were munching on celery sticks but the container looked full. "No one ate any?"
"We did," they reply.
"What other kinds of snacks were there?"
"None?"
"None?"
SFB sighs to convey I'm clueless. "They don't want healthy snacks, Mom."
Well, pppppllllltttt to them! I'll buy a container of chocolate chip cookies, next time. If they want to consume empty calories, I'll provide it in spades; it's cheaper and far easier for me in the long run.
Last night, near about bedtime, MrBug and I got our "we want something" craving. What a nice treat to have cut up veggies with dip right at our fingertips. We decimated that container! :)
