So I stood at the counter for about fifteen minutes, yesterday afternoon, washing and cutting up celery and broccoli crowns and arranging them with some baby carrots I'd bought. I send these, in a tupperware-ish container, with Savagefuzzball and Mingo to that evening's Jazz Chords practice. Oh, there was a container of sour cream and onion dip with that, by the way.

When I picked them up, an hour and a half later, both girls were munching on celery sticks but the container looked full. "No one ate any?"
"We did," they reply.
"What other kinds of snacks were there?"
"None?"
"None?"
SFB sighs to convey I'm clueless. "They don't want healthy snacks, Mom."

Well, pppppllllltttt to them! I'll buy a container of chocolate chip cookies, next time. If they want to consume empty calories, I'll provide it in spades; it's cheaper and far easier for me in the long run.

Last night, near about bedtime, MrBug and I got our "we want something" craving. What a nice treat to have cut up veggies with dip right at our fingertips. We decimated that container! :)

My dear friend, Tenety stopped by, today, around lunch time. While we don't live far apart, this is a rarity so highly anticipated and completely lovely. Before she arrived I did my normal morning routine and then removed a few layers of animal fur and dust so there'd be a clean square foot for us to sit in.

After she arrived, we did what we do best - chit-chatted about life in general. The time flew by!

As good things do, her visit came to an end and after waving goodbye to her and her adorable kidlings, I drove to the craft store to pick up a couple things to complete my entry in jessibud's A Journey Through The Seasons journal. I put that together, answered some e-mail, answered some posts and am now going to work on the bookcrossing postcards.

What I'd like to do:
1) Sit outside with a frosty drink and watch the clouds gather.
2) Rewind time and sit with Tenety for a few more hours and chit chat about life.
3) Go in and snuggle with my Savagefuzzball before I find she's suddenly eighteen and moving out.
4) Something that doesn't involve PhotoShop, PainterClassic or any other graphics programs.
